About Brad Toohill

Born in rural Ohio and raised with my sister by our parents, I learned early on the value of hard work, teamwork,  perseverance and how to be safe with a firearm. After high school I joined the Marine Corps Reserve as a machine gunner while attending college.

I served in the USMC(R) for 6 years. I spent the next two decades teaching at the high school and elementary school level and am currently an elementary school assistant principal.

Our mission at Blackwood Firearms Instruction is to develop in our student’s, the knowledge, skill, and attitude necessary to be safe and responsible gun owners. We offer our students quality training that focuses on safety above all else. I am endorsed and certified by the NRA as a Rifle / Pistol Instructor / Range Safety Officer and the Maryland State Police as Maryland Qualified Handgun Instructor.  Since 2012, I have trained over 1000 students  how to safely own and operate a firearm.
